Evaluation & Research Associate

As part of the core team, an Evaluation & Research Associate is being recruited to support ongoing and new assignments. This role is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven researcher who wants to contribute to rigorous program evaluations, research assignments, and support for local NGOs.

This role is primarily responsible for leading data analysis processes — including quantitative and qualitative analysis, data visualization, and statistical interpretation — alongside data collection, narrative drafting, data triangulation, data cleaning, and report compilation.

Data Analysis & Interpretation (Primary Focus)

• Lead quantitative data analysis using statistical tools (SPSS, Excel, R, or equivalent) to generate actionable insights for program evaluations

• Conduct qualitative data analysis including transcription, coding, and thematic analysis to surface patterns and findings

• Design and produce data visualizations (charts, dashboards, infographics) that clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Apply data triangulation methods to cross-validate findings across multiple sources and strengthen evidence quality

• Perform data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance to ensure integrity and reliability of all datasets

• Synthesize large volumes of data into concise, evidence-based narratives and recommendations

• Interpret statistical outputs and translate them into practical programmatic insights for clients and stakeholders

Data Collection

• Collect data regularly through in-person and remote modalities (surveys, focus group discussions, spot checks, and other tools)

• Ensure high-quality data collection while observing ethical standards and data collection protocols

• Draft research and evaluation plans, managing data collection teams or collecting data directly

• Perform data entry, data management, and compilation using Excel, KoBoToolbox, and other databases

• Maintain timely communication with the team to address emerging issues

Reporting & Research

• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize outcomes data on topics relevant to assigned program objectives

• Contribute to tool development and electronic formatting (KoBoToolbox)

• Present findings through narrative reports and data-driven graphs for both internal and external audiences

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Master's degree in a development field, social science, economics, statistics, data science, business, or a relevant quantitative or analytical discipline.

Experience

3 to 5 years of progressive experience in research, data analysis, monitoring, and/or evaluation with a local and/or international development organization. Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing and visualizing data for programmatic or research purposes is essential.

Technical Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced), SPSS, and other statistical or data analysis software. Experience with KoBoToolbox, R, or data visualization platforms is a strong advantage.

Languages

Fluent in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
